This is the third time I have boarded my dog here. I am someone who usually gives second chances, and in my case, my dog is not easy. But picking him up this last time was the straw that broke the camel's back. The first time I brought him, he stayed for almost 3 weeks and I picked him up extremely thin, with conjunctivitis and wounds on his snout from fighting with other dogs through the fences during their release times. I thought, 'Well, my dog is difficult, he didn't eat because he's not at home, he is aggressive towards other dogs so the wounds make sense, and the conjunctivitis is from the environment.' Fine, I made excuses for it myself. The second time was for four days, so there was hardly time for anything to happen except for the conjunctivitis again. But this last time really upset me because of the effort I put in to make sure my dog is better off. I always bring his own kibble and some cans of wet food, which I specifically ask to be mixed with the kibble to prevent what happened the first time. So I travel there with the dog, his bed, the bag of kibble, and the canned food. I reiterated that they please mix the wet and dry food, and what was my surprise upon picking him up? The bag was untouched, the cans untouched. Not a single one had been used, and once again, he had conjunctivitis. I am not even going to judge whether the dogs are treated better or worse; I know what kind of dog I have, I know he is delicate, and I know staying at a kennel is traumatic for him. But going there with my good intentions and concerns only for you to completely ignore them is what really frustrates me. The first time I left him, you should have called me to say he wasn't eating anything at all, and this last time you should have shown a little consideration regarding the food request. The lack of communication on your part and the carelessness regarding certain matters is, in my opinion, what reflects most poorly on you.

Not very satisfied. I asked a guy there how many times a day they took my dog out and he told me 1, a while later I asked another coworker and he told me 2... I left him there for 12 days and if I want a video of my dog to see how he is doing, they charge me 2 euros... Anyway

My family left my dog here for a few weeks, and she was returned to me with bald spots, emaciated, and terrified of sounds, objects, and people. She didn't seem like herself. Do not bring your family members here.

Flint has always had a wonderful time at Solycan. I've known them for years (since Flint was very little), and to me, they are completely trustworthy, which is the most important thing when you leave your dog in someone's care. They have always treated him with so much love, and I have total peace of mind knowing he is with them. You can tell they know dogs well, that they love what they do, and that they genuinely care about their well-being. Without a doubt, a completely recommended place, and one where I will definitely continue trusting them with Flint.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!! I left my 5-year-old boxer, he weighed 30 kilos and was a very happy, playful dog. When we got home, we saw he had ticks, cuts on his hind legs, a bloody tail, and he was skin and BONES, weighing 4 kilos less. He returned lethargic, with two ticks on his neck. We asked them for photos of the dog since we hadn't heard from them during the week he was there; after 2 days we asked for pictures and all they answered was "he is eating well, greetings"... heartless scoundrels who know what they are doing and that's why they don't send a single measly picture.

The staff's treatment was very good. But I got the impression that they interacted very little with the dogs... that except to clean the kennel, they didn't take them out.

Sadly, I regret having left my little dog there. It's the first time I've been forced to take him to a place like this... there must certainly be better ones. The man who handles calls and in-person inquiries is a bit rude... it feels like he's doing us a "free" favor... I don't think he has much of a friendly bone in his body. The man inside who attends to you once you drop off the dogs seems nice... Today I went to pick him up after leaving him for 6 days... and I don't even want to imagine what he must have gone through... he came out covered in poop, and his bed (which I brought completely spotless and clean) had to be thrown away because of all the filth on it... The man who hands over the dogs told us, "he comes out a bit grubby because it looks like he vomited or pooped, I don't know," and got a bit dirty... "A bit," he says; we had to throw the bed away and give him a full bath as soon as we got home. Never in my life had I seen my dog like that... sleeping on top of poop and with such a filthy bed... He even came out looking thinner, I'd say, dying of thirst, and a bit scared (though he is naturally a bit skittish anyway). Anyway, I expected something better; I hadn't read that many bad reviews... I was down to the wire and had to make a decision... but it won't happen again. I hope others are careful... my experience was certainly not good... I wouldn't leave him there again for anything. The man on the phone says they take them out twice a day... I would bet they didn't take my dog out even once, because if it were me taking the dog out once or twice a day like they claim and I saw the bed like that, at least I would remove it for hygiene reasons... anyway, like I said. Be very careful with these places.

Terrible!! It's the first time I've left him there, and when I went to pick up my dog after 6 nights, I found him covered in ticks and his kennel full of feces and urine because it hadn't been cleaned. I will certainly never leave any animal there again; what a shame to get your dog back in that condition!!

Our experience is very good year after year. I see other reviews that seem a bit biased. Dogs bark when they are together: they are dogs.

They don't know how to proceed properly, and every question bothers them and seems rude to them. Lack of information and a terrible lack of professionalism when booking a stay.

We feel completely at ease leaving our cat here for a week during the summer. He leaves calm and you can tell he has been well taken care of. Great space, he was in a kennel with a terrace. Previously, we had a dog that we also used to leave for a week, and she always came back happy. You could tell when you returned the following year and she was so calm. Thank you very much for taking care of our pets when we can't do it ourselves.

I have just picked up my two dogs after 8 days. I don't have enough words of gratitude, we are delighted with the treatment, how they care for them, and how well they have been. Their kennel was large and with plenty of shade, they cool them off, and they fed them before we took them home. Thank you so much for everything, I recommend it 100%, do not hesitate to leave your little ones there.

We boarded our dogs here and they had a fantastic time. Not only does the facility make drop-off, pick-up, and extending nights very easy, but the dogs were also in a spacious area with plenty of shade, and we picked them up super happy. All the dogs were quiet and calm when we arrived. This is definitely our new go-to boarding kennel.

We've been bringing two siblings here for 5 years—two Russells, one of them a Parson, and they have an endless amount of energy. They always come out running around, happily jumping all over. The guy calls them with a whistle and they come right over (something that never works for us, which makes me a bit jealous in a good way 🤣). They're fresh... they stink like crazy, but that's normal since they're running around all day. One of my dogs is epileptic and the other is terrified of everything: thunder, fireworks, rain... they know it, and we remind them every time we visit about the issues they have, because the two of them really have a hard time when something like this happens. And what can I say... last year when it rained, I called to check on him, and the guy confirmed the dog was terrified and had to turn on the AC to muffle the noise because he was shaking uncontrollably. It's simple: bring them and see for yourself. Sure, you don't get 24/7 camera monitoring and they don't have a pool, but they are very well taken care of and very happy.

Horrible... please do not take your pets there, I'm tired of keeping inside what I've been holding onto with so much pain for a while... I only left my dog there for three days because her usual sitter just couldn't and I had to travel, when I picked her up my dog had so much anxiety that I had to work on for almost two weeks, she wouldn't stop crying and she had marks on her head, they should shut down this "business" it's inhumane, all they care about is profit and they treat the dogs very poorly and the cages are disgusting, very dirty... who knows what they did to my dog for her to end up with so much anxiety...

After bad experiences at other kennels, we have been leaving our dogs and cat at Solycan for over 20 years, and it has always been a great experience. We have never had a single problem; even when they were puppies, they have always been returned to us in perfect condition. They are true professionals.

In 2024, my boyfriend and I had a trip planned, and we had to leave our puppy at a boarding facility for two nights until a friend could watch him. Upon arriving at the place (which is not easy at all due to the pretty bad road there), there was not even a hello; we rang the bell, they let us in, and the sound of barking dogs was overwhelming. We reached the kennel where my dog would stay, and the poor thing hid behind our legs, terrified. Everything was dirty, it smelled awful, and the space for the dog was tiny; the water bowl had no water and was disgusting. My boyfriend walked out of there horrified, and we decided not to leave our dog there; seeing all the reviews, I'm glad we didn't. We had to go out of our way to reach out to friends for help, but I wouldn't leave my dog there for even a single night after the little bit I saw—just imagine how my dog would have ended up coming out of there.

It is the best place I have ever left my dogs. They are two very particular bull terriers and I have tried several pet hotels; this is the best one. Suffice it to say, it's the only one they are thrilled to go to. I recommend it, and the facilities for both summer and winter are great.

We just picked up the dogs and, as always, we are very happy. They are well looked after, cared for, and you can tell they get plenty of activity and good food. I have read both negative and positive reviews, and I think it's important to consider both sides, but also to understand that not all dogs are the same. In our case, my partner's dogs, who are used to this simpler, more "traditional" style of boarding facility, adapt perfectly and love it. Personally, I might not bring my own little dog because, given her temperament, I don't think she would be entirely comfortable in this specific environment. But that doesn't mean the place doesn't run well; it just depends a lot on the dog's personality and what they are used to. In our case, the experience has been very good and we will be back.

Whenever I go away, I leave them here. The staff is very friendly and you can tell the dogs are well taken care of; the only thing is to always bring a little bed if your dog is used to sleeping in one. The worst decision I have made in my life. She came back thin, with no pigmentation on her snout. She is terrified. She is afraid of everything. It is a horrible place.

We have already taken our dog four times and are very satisfied with the service. They are trustworthy and have good prices. The facilities are simple, but I like the natural environment. I wouldn't recommend them for dogs that are very attached to their owners or delicate; for those, home-like facilities would be better. I say this because I see a lot of people complaining. We have never had any issues.

We have left our dog here many times, and I already did years ago with my previous dog; with both of them I've had the same experience: they run right in and it's hard to get them to leave! Hahahaha. They go in happy. They have plenty of space, and each dog has their own individual area both inside and outside. Also, it's one of the few places where you can bring a dog in heat because they guarantee they won't mix with others.

We have boarded our cat here 4 times over the last 2 years, and honestly, you couldn't say anything better about this pet boarding facility. The customer service and the care and affection they show towards the animals are top-notch. If you add to that their reasonable prices, which are much more affordable than other facilities in industrial parks in the area, our choice will continue to be SOLYCAN.

It's blatantly obvious that they are malicious reviews from competitors trying to discredit the great work they do. If you are looking for a trustworthy place where they genuinely love your pets and treat them like at home, this is the place. My experience of almost half a decade backs them up. Fully recommended!

I was going to leave my dog there for 4 days, but when I walked in and saw the terrible conditions the dogs were kept in, I took him away with me. It is an absolute disgrace: cramped spaces where they take the dogs out one by one just to do their business and put them right back in... the dogs were scared and barking. I asked if they were not going to take them out to the green areas they advertise online, and they told me that 'it was what it was' because they had 150 dogs. I hope it ends up shutting down.

They are filthy, the boarding facility is in terrible shape, full of fleas and mice. The dogs are cold in the winter and hot in the summer. They haven't invested anything in the facility. Do not leave any pets there, they come out in worse condition than they go in.

Reportable. If you are thinking of leaving your pet here, DO NOT do it, anywhere else is better than this place. 4 days were enough to find my dog nearly dead. The owner would be better off doing something else; this line of work requires responsibility, and in this case, there is none.

A complete disgrace, I left my dog there and they almost handed him back to me half dead. The manager of the place is very rude and insults the animals. They won't catch me doing this ever again.

I left my dog for 11 days thinking everything would go well, but when I went to pick her up, honestly, she was thin—she lost at least 10 kg—terrified, full of fear, and with a cough that she still has 3 weeks later. Who knows what happened there, you cannot treat animals like this, it's a disgrace.

Our dog stayed at the facility for a week, and we were surprised by the lack of cleanliness in the kennels (not only our dog's, but along the entire row). The smell is very, very strong; it is not the normal smell of a place where animals are boarded, but the smell of a place that is not cleaned as regularly as it should be. As soon as we left, we had to go bathe our dog because the smell and the dirt stuck to his coat were unbearable. I think this is a very important point to improve, as those of us who leave our animals there care deeply about their well-being. On the other hand, on a positive note, we appreciate the flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times, as well as their promptness in communication.

This is the second time I have left my two dogs there, and this second time was for almost two months. I was able to go visit them whenever I wanted, brought them home-cooked food, and they even let me set up a little pool in their area so they could stay cool. Obviously, especially my male dog who is very attached to me, he came back thin, but I understand, know, and have proof that it was due to stress. They answered the phone at all times, sent me videos and photos of my dogs—like playing with them with the hose and the area where they took them out for walks—so my rating is positive. In fact, if circumstances require them to go back to doggy daycare or a boarding facility, they will return there. Not to mention the empathy of the staff working there, who even gave me a discount after learning about my situation and knowing that I had to leave them there for quite a few days.

At Solycan, however, they have always been super respectful of his energy and have known how to handle him wonderfully. What I like most is how flexible they are. I have spent a year and 4 months trying to keep quiet about what my dogs went through at that boarding facility, but I see that history repeats itself and is getting worse, because there are even deceased animals. The misfortune I had of leaving my dogs there for quite a while due to life circumstances (I HAVE FINALLY HAD THEM WITH ME FOR 1 YEAR AND 4 MONTHS). I go to pick up my dogs to take them home and I thank God, because otherwise one of them wouldn't have made it. 3 days later I have to hospitalize one of my dogs because the vet comes to my house and he has a fever, won't eat, and is in VERY BAD SHAPE. An extensive ER report where he was admitted for 4 days, seen by every specialist imaginable, and if anyone running this business denies it, I will shove the reports in their face, and THEY KNOW VERY WELL THAT I AM NOT LYING. My dog was left with severe long-term aftereffects; they gave him a limited life expectancy that is only being extended because of all the CARE, ATTENTION, AND CHECKUPS HE IS RECEIVING AS HE RIGHTLY SHOULD. Before this circumstance, they told me the dog needed surgery FOR A STOMACH OBSTRUCTION, but MANY DAYS, if not WEEKS, passed with the dog in deplorable conditions, and I REPEAT, if anyone denies it I HAVE PHOTOS and the report that states ANIMAL ABUSE, NEGLECT, proving this didn't happen overnight. My other dog had a lump; they operated on him when the lump reached the size of an apple. I ALSO HAVE PHOTOS in case anyone dares to deny it, and they tell me THEY LOST THE BIOPSY!!!!! They left my dogs abandoned, mistreated, letting them get sick WITHOUT LIFTING A FINGER FOR THEM. In a report it says they have 653 pets; I don't know how many workers they have right now, but THEY CANNOT COPE and they don't look out for them, they only care about BILLING. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMALS HERE; one of mine barely survived and carries SO MANY AFTEREFFECTS, and the other has aftereffects too, though thank God not as severe. They know very well what they did to my dogs, the vets who examined my dogs know it too, and I can prove it with reports and photos. DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME THIS IS A LIE AND YOU KNOW IT VERY WELL, I CAN PROVE EVERYTHING I AM SAYING.

We boarded my dog there for 10 days; on the 4th day, they called us to say she had passed away from a "heart attack." My dog was in perfect condition when we dropped her off. Looking at the facility, it gives me the impression that she didn't receive proper care or stay in proper conditions, something we already suspected when we left her. That dog was a gift to us, and the manager still had the nerve to tell us to buy another one if we are animal lovers. She was our one and only dog and we certainly don't plan on replacing her—a very insensitive remark on his part seeing a heartbroken family. We, the children, didn't even get a simple "I'm sorry" from him. Maybe it wasn't their fault that she passed away (I doubt it, since, as I said, she was in perfect health), but a simple apology seeing our faces and tears would have been appreciated. And on top of that, they had the nerve to charge us a price for the stay that was NOT what was agreed upon—shameful. I will never go back.

Its large facilities are suitable for leaving your pet for a few days. It would surely be perfect if they had more staff, but then their price wouldn't be as competitive. Even so, all things considered, they are well looked after and loved by their caregivers.

My sister left her dog there for a few days. I did not like the conditions in which he returned; he stank, he came in a van where I highly doubt the A/C reached the back, and I felt so sorry seeing a German Shepherd being delivered back to its owners, having to endure the oppressive heat/stress of the van again. Honestly, I've read previous reviews and they truly are real—now I really believe them. I take my cats and this dog of my sister's to another farm/kennel and... there is no comparison, they love animals! Here they just stick to business, as if they were running a fruit stall with melons, except these are living beings. Besides, damn it... that's what I pay for! They charge like all the other kennels, plus you pay extra if they have to give them medication, you pay if you want a video to see how they're doing... I had to put him straight into the shower as soon as he arrived... he stank, he really stank!! And he was super dirty. Honestly, I don't plan on ever taking my pet there again. I'm sorry to have to leave this review, but I'm just warning potential clients—it's my right for people to know, or to find out before leaving their pets there. It's in your hands to turn this review around and make changes! That way people will start rating you accordingly. It's up to you. My dog and my cats are sacred! Best regards.

We have been leaving our dogs at this boarding facility during all our vacations for years, and we couldn't be happier. Nestor, the manager, is always looking after them and the service is excellent. Our pets always come back happy, well-fed, and full of energy from playing and socializing. The facilities are secure and tailored so the dogs are comfortable. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that, when we are away, they are in good hands. Highly recommended!

Second year leaving our dog here and second time we picked up a happy pup. The facilities are very nice and you can tell the caretakers love animals, which deep down is the most important thing.

Cat stayed there 20 days this August, and lost a 1/4 of his body weight, the food I bought was barely touched, the cat's eye infected an partly lost his eye sight, he was so dirty and dusty, and the worst part: completely dehydrated, had directly to a pet doctor and on liquid infuse and were told we were just in time, he would have max 48 hours to live.. I trusted Canina and their workers (big mistake) paid a fortune (more then an average house rent) and they did not inform us on anything, no call, no email, no report nada. All this is completely UNACCEPTABLE! Do not put ANY animal here! Will follow up with action. Cat is slowly doing better and is still recovering. Edit: Cat died not long after..

I'm giving them one star because there isn't a lower rating. The place is deplorable; I sent my 4 pets with someone I had entrusted them to, but if I had gone myself, I swear I wouldn't have left them. When I went to pick them up, I got depressed seeing where they had kept them. They were only there for 6 days; I brought two female dogs and two cats. One of the dogs and both cats came back thin, and it was only 6 days. Please do not leave your pets at this place. On top of that, Mr. Carlos gives very out-of-line responses, as if they were just mere animals. I kindly asked him to send me a photo of them, and he told me, "I charge for photos."

My 3 dogs are happy, mother and two offspring go together and they are well cared for.

First of all, I don't understand the point of certain negative reviews... which in many cases only serve to confuse people. I have been coming here for a long time, and my dog has always been great and well cared for by Ali, the caretaker, who dedicates his time and soul to the fur babies. We will definitely come back because Bonnie goes crazy with excitement every time she comes... If the dogs were poorly cared for, they wouldn't stay the way mine does. I have total peace of mind and trust in Solycan.

We left our two dogs for 6 nights; they came back happy, tired, and in good physical and emotional condition. Considering the competitive price, it is a good option to leave your pet for a few days. I give it one star only because I can't give minus 5. Seriously, do not leave your pets at this place. I left my 4-month-old puppy here, and from the beginning I started to feel that something wasn't right. The facilities are not the best, and the people working there, starting with the manager, don't inspire an ounce of trust. I started looking into the place, and seeing all these reviews, I realized I had made a mistake: my puppy started having diarrhea, and when I went to see her she had neither food nor water. The last time I was there, I saw one of the handlers hit a black Labrador because she escaped from her kennel. I can assure you that poor dog had sheer desperation in her eyes, wanting to escape that place. On top of that, the manager came over, extremely rude, and told me that either I move to the yard or I leave the property, but that I couldn't be there. Of course, the handler told him the dog had escaped because of me so he wouldn't get scolded, when I had nothing to do with it—I was just checking on my puppy. The treatment of the animals is terrible, their treatment of people is terrible, with an impressive lack of attention and extreme rudeness, completely the opposite of what a place like this should be. Truly, do not leave your pets there; I don't know how this place is still open, they should shut it down. These people work without love and have no idea how to care for animals; they are abusers. I took my dog home that very same day; when she arrived, she ate 3 bowls of food—my question is how long had she gone without eating? I wasted time and money on this place, which is terrible in every sense. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS THERE, THEY ARE PHYSICALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY ABUSED. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY AUTHORITY, SEND THEM OVER AND HAVE THIS PLACE CLOSED DOWN. EVERYTHING this man states in his response is totally false. DO NOT leave your pets here; just by talking to anyone who works there you will realize they cannot be trusted. The handler hit one of the dogs right in front of me because she escaped. I reported this place. Terrible service, terrible pet care.

I left my dog for one night because of an obligation. We wouldn't have wanted to since he was very young, but you can't leave them by the hour and I didn't know of any other places in the area. When we went to pick him up the next day, they let us go back to where he had spent the night; my poor little guy was in a dirty, dark cage surrounded by many other dogs, all barking constantly, smelly, and horrible. In fact, two or three days later he developed an ear infection and was really suffering. He came out so dirty that as soon as we got home we had to give him a bath because of how bad the poor thing smelled. I will never take him there again. Not recommended at all if you truly love your dog. Very dirty, and the subsequent vet bills are not worth it. Reply to the response: Nobody said the dogs were together; they are in individual cages, each in its own dirty, dark cage. Nor did I mention he was scared, since he doesn't scare easily; I have two dogs at home and take them to dog parks frequently. And he didn't arrive with an ear infection; he was perfectly fine beforehand since we clean him almost daily and his ears were healthy. I am writing this review with all the grief in my heart. My dog died yesterday at this boarding facility from gastric torsion (bloat). For months, I had been telling them that I saw my dog looking extremely thin and pleaded with them to feed him more. Well, their solution was to give him kilos and kilos of food. I told them that if they kept doing that, he was going to get bloat. They completely ignored me; they kept giving him mountains of food until yesterday, when he died there alone. The staff doesn't speak Spanish. They don't have the slightest knowledge of how to feed a dog, nor are they trained to feed dogs the proper amount according to breed and size. Today I went to pick up my dog's collar and I didn't even get a call from the owner apologizing. Coincidentally, the guy in charge of my dog, Adil, had conveniently been on vacation since the day my dog passed away. He offered no explanation and didn't call me. He had never taken a vacation until this happened. Coincidentally yesterday, March 30, 2025. They handled the paperwork for my dog without any humanity, just like someone buying a bicycle and paying with a card. My dog died alone in immense pain, and nobody did anything. These people—to call them something—are not minimally qualified to work with animals, to know how much to feed them, nor to apologize or give an explanation of what happened. I say this especially regarding the Moroccan guy, Adil, who was the one responsible for feeding my dog. Now my dog is no longer with me; he died alone in a filthy hovel full of metal bars, because on top of everything, the whole place is filthy and not properly fitted. A month ago I told the owner that this was going to end in bloat, and in the end, that's exactly what happened. In short, think twice before taking your dog to this filthy place with people who don't even speak Spanish. The employees are totally untrustworthy; shortly after arriving, they took off a 42-euro Seresto collar. These are the kind of employees they have at SOLYCAN. Besides, they told me some people didn't feed the dogs because they were afraid of them. Who conducts the interviews there? A three-year-old child? What an absolute disaster of a boarding kennel. My dog went in perfectly healthy, and they ruined him in just a few months. Lastly, I want to mention that they keep cats in stables in pitiful conditions, on black cushions covered in filth and giving off a horrible stench. It was frightening. My God, where has my dog been? I deeply regret having brought him to this place. You are despicable. Fly high, my boy, I hope you didn't suffer 🌈

I have been leaving my dog and other pets I've had with them for years, and the truth is that the treatment and care for my dog is excellent, a 10 out of 10 for me. What I liked most is that they don't require a trial day to board the dog, unlike most kennels in Madrid. This gives me peace of mind and reassurance in case an emergency or unexpected work comes up, etc. The facilities are very clean, and the dogs have their own individual kennel and patio in addition to a large communal yard.

I wrote this review 3 years ago and Google blocked it. Trying again: Good afternoon. I am sharing our experience. When speaking with the owner, I didn't really like his attitude (our mistake for leaving the dog there anyway), but we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt based on a few reviews we read; nothing could be further from the truth. After spending one day there, we went to pick him up and found him crouched in a corner, seemingly asleep. When we entered the kennel and approached, he stood up and was happy. BUT, when the handler looked in, our dog backed away, his hair stood on end, he bared his teeth, and started barking. I have to say our dog has NEVER shown signs of aggression. Zero barking, zero anger. Hearing him bark was a huge shock to us. Since our dog is 10 months old and has a possible chicken intolerance, they told us to bring his own food to feed him. We brought a brand-new, sealed bag of kibble that was still sealed when we picked him up. When we arrived, we saw different kibble in his feeding bowl, which consequently gave him mild diarrhea and broke out in bumps all over his body, JUST AS WE WARNED COULD HAPPEN. Once outside the premises—where the dog was literally dragging me because he wanted to leave immediately—he peed non-stop for a full minute, a clear sign that he had not been taken out for a walk, since he is used to never peeing in his "safe zone." At Solycan, "walking the dogs" means opening the door for 5–10 minutes into a cramped enclosure surrounded by dogs behind closed doors barking continuously. This causes enormous anxiety and stress for the dog that is "loose." I want to send a message to the owner so he knows that, while I understand this is his business, he cannot brag about having 30 years of industry experience and housing 160 dogs on the property with ONLY 6 employees, likely split across different shifts. I don't even want to think about the condition of the other dogs that stay there for weeks, when ours came out traumatized after JUST ONE DAY. We realized that, OBVIOUSLY, they do not care about the dogs at all, only about the business. Of course, we are spreading this review across multiple platforms to keep places like this from continuing these practices. For anyone planning to go: they put on a very pleasant face and big smiles, but last night was cold and they didn't keep the dogs in enclosed indoor areas. If you leave your dogs there for weeks or months, be aware that they are locked in a small square day after day after day without any interaction with other dogs except through barking and banging against the gates, creating more and more stress. It is completely understandable why people write that when they pick them up, the dogs don't even recognize their families. My dog is sleeping at home now, but we had a tough morning trying to calm him down. I hope this helps anyone having doubts, and apologies for the long text, but it felt necessary. UPDATING THE REVIEW BASED ON THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE: My dog has been sociable since day one. You cannot try to blame the person leaving a negative review with irrelevant arguments. Back then, Dante spent one day with you and didn't pee at all because you do not walk them. You cannot talk about Dante having behavioral problems because I would honestly love for you to truly know him. He is a dog that is sociable with both dogs and people. He has never bitten and has never shown even the slightest aggressive gesture; yet, the moment his caretaker appeared in front of him, he nearly lunged at him. A bit strange, don't you think? A completely non-aggressive dog showing defensive signs toward someone when we don't know how that person treated him. I must say thank you for the experience that day because it made me do much more thorough research whenever I have needed this type of service since. Dante has stayed with pet sitters, boarding kennels, and canine centers after this with zero issues. But as for Solycan... I hope at least you have changed.

I changed my rating because it was not the expected result. My dog came back exactly the same. They didn't explain that a session had to take place in his actual environment, but they never got back in touch. For this kind of result, I would have been better off leaving him with his petsitter, where he has a good time.

The customer service is not exactly friendly and the kennels are not in good shape. They are exposed to the rain despite having a roof. One of the people who works there, a Moroccan man, is lovely, knows all the dogs, and treats them wonderfully. Without a doubt, this worker is the best thing about the place.

Hello. I will share my experience with this boarding facility. I hadn't done it before because I don't usually write reviews, but judging by what I've seen, people tend to write more about the "bad things" than the good ones. And that's how it is with everything. Two years ago, if not more, I moved my two dogs (female and male, around 9 years old) from another boarding facility in Guadalajara to SolyCan. The reasons were explained to both the owner and the manager. The situation at that previous facility was terrible, not to mention the price... Anyway, I was in a rush, and we all make mistakes that can be remedied, and that's how I found SolyCan. My female dog arrived with an open wound on her chest—literally—caused by my male dog because they fight and couldn't be kept together. That said, you can understand how terrified I was to leave both of them at another boarding facility under those conditions. I didn't know how they were going to be kept apart. To sum up: they healed her; within a few days the wound was already closed. My dogs were separated but together, side by side. The female adapted quickly, while the male had a harder time, but they sent me photos and videos frequently to give me peace of mind, since I had to leave them indefinitely until I could take them back. I was able to take the female back because she adapts well to an apartment; I didn't have the same luck with the male. Well, my dog has been at the facility for two years now, and I am thrilled. There hasn't been a single problem. What's more, his poor tolerance toward other male dogs has improved—now he just ignores them. And as others have mentioned in reviews, leaving an unsociable dog in places like this really helps them, especially with separation anxiety, which was my issue. I visit every two weeks and my dog is doing great, strong, and as clean as can be given that they are in an area with dirt ground—it's obvious they will get dirty, and every time I visit I see dogs out of their kennels. They always have water and a clean area; the staff can't be watching over every single pee they take, so people need to be a bit more understanding of the hard work this job entails. If you want a dedicated caregiver for every pet and air conditioning in the kennels, you have to pay for that, folks, and I don't think anyone is willing to pay those rates. Nothing more to add—as long as my dog is well, that's what we look for. I hope they remain open for many more years. I definitely recommend it! Best regards.

I left my dogs for 15 days, and I picked them up injured, malnourished, with eye infections, terrified, and unresponsive to their caretaker. The bath they gave them must have been just hosing them down because they claimed not to have noticed their multiple wounds. The female dog lost some teeth, and their excuse was that they fought each other due to stress—something that has never happened in their lives, nor during the many other times they stayed at another boarding facility. Constant excuses, and to prevent me from taking legal action, they offered a refund. Not recommended at all: everything was filthy, smelled bad, facilities were neglected, and there were boards with nails in the dogs' play area. I have photos and videos to prove it, but they spend their time reporting the pictures to get the review taken down. Funny how they spend more time reporting Google reviews to clean up their image than actually caring for the dogs. According to them, all the negative reviews are fake, but you can see they have years of malpractice behind them. Do not go there.

I just picked up my female dogs, a husky and a mixed breed, that I left for 10 days and I am delighted; they treat the animals with so much affection. I totally recommend this place.

Not recommended at all, overcrowded, very few caretakers, dogs are poorly fed, they don't take them out of their cages, they don't play with them, they leave them without water because they don't check if the dogs knock it over, full of wounds and malnourished, facilities are very dirty and smell bad. The enclosures are too small, and the run area is too small. It's curious to see how one of the caretakers lives there with his family and children right in the middle of the cages, because as soon as you enter, the amount of barking is deafening and extremely bothersome, making it impossible for the dogs to rest.

I left my Boxer there for 17 days, and the treatment of both him and us was unbeatable. Thank you very much for a job well done.

We picked up our dog after 5 days. Honestly, we were not convinced at all when we left him. The reviews didn't help, and when we arrived, the place looked quite old, run-down, and smelled pretty bad... The staff barely speak Spanish and couldn't give me details about my dog's stay, but... I have to say that, even with the shortcomings we noticed in the facilities, he came out happy, clean, and cheerful.

We boarded my cat for 17 days and they returned him to us malnourished and dehydrated. He wasn't doing very well, but they watched him worsen to the point of wasting away. Aren't they supposed to call and inform you about his condition? If they had, maybe we could have saved him. Now it's too late. I will never forgive them.

It meets the minimum daycare requirements.

If I could, I would give them -20 stars!! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOGS HERE!! ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE REAL!! They are treated like in a slaughterhouse. Left to their own fate. I left my dog here, and she came back with bite wounds all over her body in different stages of healing (which proves that the injuries and fights were ongoing and not just an accident). The boarding facility takes no responsibility for the wounds and cannot provide any answers about what happened. We have reported them.

Bad customer care and even worse service

I don't understand how there can be such a difference of opinions. I had to leave Rufa out of necessity for several months, and she was always a very unsociable and quite dominant dog; other kennels could never correct this attitude. At Solycan, they showed me that it is a matter of doing things with dedication and enthusiasm, and it's clear to me that they lack neither that nor experience—I think they've been around for 30 years. I couldn't be more grateful to the entire Solycan team; you just have to see how much Rufa loves her caretakers, I assure you I even got jealous. To those who had a bad experience 20 years ago or in another lifetime... I truly recommend you see for yourselves how much they care about their work. Surely in 30 years they've made more than one mistake and had more than a few issues... but who hasn't? It's very hard for me to believe those of you who paint this kennel as a dog's hell without having some other agenda... Well, in my case, I publicly thank you for the great job you did with Rufa. I have a French bulldog, a difficult breed in summer and prone to heat strokes. I decided to leave him here because they have some of the best facilities in Madrid; bulldogs are a complicated breed due to their breathing and heat strokes. He stayed here for 10 days and it was phenomenal. He didn't lose weight, he was in perfect condition; from other boarding kennels he used to come back thin and sad. Here it's been luxurious, couldn't be better. Responsible and very kind, thank you for everything.

THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE! The worst thing you can do to your pet is leave them with these people. First off, if you request transport, they pick them up in a van with no windows and no air conditioning. When they delivered my dog the next day, he arrived with heatstroke—I thought he was going to pass out, poor thing; it was 32 degrees inside without AC and who knows how long he was in there. He also arrived with his paws completely torn up and bleeding. The worst part is that he was only there for one day, which was enough to traumatize him. When I tried to hand over his harness for them to handle him, they told me 'it's not necessary,' which made me think they were going to treat him like a street dog with those catch poles around the neck, and that was indeed the case. Not to mention the staff's attitude: I called them to check on my dog and ask if they could send a picture, and their response was 'there are over 150 dogs here, if I send you a picture I won't have time for anything else.' I repeat: do not leave your pets here.

In my experience, I do not recommend it! They deleted the review I left quite a while ago, but I am posting it again so that anyone thinking about leaving their pets in this place DOESN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!! We left our dog for a weekend (and although we called and were told everything was fine) we requested a bath (for which an extra 15 euros is paid), and when they brought him back he smelled terrible and was completely filthy. On top of that, the man who delivered him was extremely rude, calling our dog "gross/rough", saying it seemed like he had never been bathed in his life, and that it looked like he had never been taken out. At no point did we agree with the driver's comments, as they upset me greatly from the start. I think they should improve their staff a bit, because if they are capable of speaking about pets that way, I can't imagine how they treat them there. I am not going to get into an argument since I've already seen that they make a thousand excuses for any negative feedback they receive. Regards, and keep in mind that many things can be improved.

It is a great pet boarding facility; we have been bringing our various dogs here for many years, currently our Schnauzer Lola, and the treatment has always been fantastic. They keep them in individual, but very spacious and well-maintained enclosures, with great professionalism. I prefer this setup over more amateur ones where they mix with many dogs without any control over their food or whether they are in heat, etc.

I had my dogs for four days at the Solycan boarding kennel with their individual, fully equipped cages, and a spacious yard where they took them out every day to run and play. The staff were super attentive, even notifying me that my female dog was starting to show signs of going into heat. Definitely true professionals, highly recommended.

I boarded my cat here and the experience was excellent. The staff who assisted us conveyed knowledge and kindness. It was our first time and we will definitely repeat.

A horrible place. After 5 days there, we picked up our dog with wounds on her paws. The concrete cubicles are far from welcoming, and pet care is limited to feeding them and letting them out once a day in an enclosed area. It is overcrowded with animals, and they do not have enough staff to care for them properly.

My dog is used to boarding kennels and has been staying in them since he was a puppy. We left him for 4 days at this one, and he came back with a wound on his paw; as soon as we got home, he drank several bowls of water, he had been very thirsty. What surprised us the most was that the dog was very agitated at home. At other boarding facilities, he remains calm after spending a few days away, but with this one, we did not get the impression that he had been well taken care of.

As in many of the reviews, my dog also came back with wounds on his paws and snout, plus he is not barking. He is a very exuberant and loud dog... Or he was... Because ever since they brought him back yesterday, he hasn't moved from the couch, he doesn't bark, and he doesn't follow me around the house. Honestly, I'm quite worried because I don't know what conditions they are kept in or how they are treated, but it's clear they aren't well. I don't care that they are in individual kennels, that you have a vet, or the thousands of canned responses you give to these comments; you must not be doing your job that well when my pet returns in such deplorable conditions.

I usually leave my dogs there, and when we arrive, they jump out of the car because they are so eager to stay. It's not like being at home in an apartment, but they are out in the wild—they can get dirty and play like the dogs they are, and they love that. You only have to see how my dogs approach the boarding staff to know that they treat them great.

I completely agree regarding the schedule, and that wasn't the problem—it was the manner in which we were treated. Out of control. Negligence. Incompetent workers with no training in canine care. A lot of dirt and days' worth of accumulated feces. We left our dog for a short stay and he is now nervous and skittish. If only I had known... They have far too many dogs crammed together and constantly barking. Rows upon rows of kennels full of neglected dogs living in deplorable conditions, both in terms of hygiene and space. With so little staff, they cannot handle so much work. They want to make so much money that they treat the animals like merchandise. This cannot be tolerated. It is all too obvious that they do not care about the animals at all. It is a dog prison. I have no other word for it.

Lamentable place… they are dogs, yes, but there should be a minimum standard of conditions. When you arrive and see the situation there, kennels with an unbelievable smell of pee, it makes you think they definitely don't take them out for walks even 10 minutes a day, many dogs kept together in constant visual contact, and when you pick up your dogs they come out stressed and whining. Just imagining my dogs locked up in there 24 hours a day makes you want to report them. The person in charge was a girl who might be 20 years old at most… it makes you wonder if that person has the necessary experience to handle some of the dogs... Anyway, compared to other kennels, not recommended at all.

Too many dogs. Just too many. And constantly barking. That generates a lot of stress for other dogs. Plus the dog food doesn't seem to be of any decent quality, but that's to be expected hosting so many dogs. I recommend using it only as a last resort.

I didn't like it.

We left our dog, an American Staffordshire, for a few days. They placed her in a kennel that was too small for her size, with a plastic bed base that was much too small for her bedding, so she couldn't fit to sleep or get comfortable. When we went to the reception, they told us that it was indeed the small dog area and that they would move her to a larger one. On pick-up day, we headed towards the kennels and discovered that she had not been moved to a different kennel. When we approached to pick her up, she had been let out into the common area, despite us warning them several times that she gets stressed in direct contact with other dogs. When we got closer, the dog was beside herself. All the other dogs were barking at her, causing her immense stress. As she approached the other kennels, who knows which dog bit her on the nose, and she started bleeding. The staff member was incapable of handling the situation. (Supposedly, we are talking about professionals, responsible people to whom we entrust our dogs, who should know how to act and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents. Even more so when they were warned about her condition and assured us that they do not mix the dogs, let alone in such cases). The handler managed to get her out of the common area along with her purple bed, which was completely covered in feces and filth—we had to throw it straight into the trash (which makes me wonder if they actually take them out, because I doubt it). At the same time, before we could calm ours down, they let out another dog that bolted like a wild horse, totally disoriented, heading straight toward us... fortunately, we managed to carry our dog out in our arms. When you see this, you realize the level of stress they must endure in this place. We have taken her to other boarding kennels and she has always looked happy, with normal behavior after her stay. Our dog still hasn't returned to normal. She has been very depressed and skittish, even though she is normally very lively. She has spent days being lethargic and just sleeping. I imagine her stay was a nightmare. They deserve to be reported.

Whenever I travel and can't take my dog with me, I leave him there. He is well taken care of, and I have peace of mind.
