Yesterday we finished training with Nuka. Her progress in so few sessions has been incredible. Ángel understood her and adapted to her, her traits, and her temperament. We didn't think Nuka could reach that level of obedience and overcome her fears. We look forward to seeing you again when we bring Nuka to the boarding facility, because she loves going there. Thank you very much, Ángel, for your patience with us and for teaching us to read the "signals" Nuka sends us. We understand her better now. She is happier, and so are we.

When we arrived at the center a year ago, my little dog Lili was completely unbalanced, and from the very first contact with Ángel, I felt understood and supported. He is a tremendous professional, as well as a person full of positivity and kind words. I don't know what we would have done without him; now I enjoy walking my dog—no pulling, no lunging at cars, no jumping on people, and no wanting to attack every dog. Forever grateful, and we will stay in touch to keep showing you our progress. A million thanks ❤️.

I was already familiar with the boarding facility because I took my dog Rincón there some time ago for the first time, and the care I received from the entire team was a 10/10. However, this time I turned to them because I needed help with my dog's behavioral issues. I only have words of gratitude, and I want to give a special shout-out to David, who did our initial assessment, and especially to Ángel, who has been training Rincón since day one. What two wonderful people, what tremendous professionals they have here, and you can truly tell that they do everything with love and dedication. Ángel, we will never be able to thank you enough for what you have done for us (Rincón first and foremost). I want to make it clear that I knew I would see an improvement in my dog once I took him for training, but I never expected the results to be so exceptionally good. I left one Rincón and picked up a completely changed dog. Ever since we adopted him, my dog has had behavioral issues on the street because he didn't know how to interact with other dogs and acted very reactively regardless of the size, sex, or attitude of the other dogs. After the 6-week training he received, we can walk down the street without him pulling on the leash, walking right past other dogs without him going crazy, and now he walks with his nose glued to the ground enjoying the scents, which is what every dog should be doing. If you have socialization issues, walking problems, or feel that walks are stressful rather than enjoyable for your dog, please contact them because every single second they dedicate to your pet is truly worth it. YOU ARE THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO US. Ángel, once again, eternal thanks for what you have done for Rincón and for my family.

It has been so lucky to meet David. Not only has he helped us a lot with Lola's behavior—she used to pull on the leash a lot and had reactivity issues—he has also taught me to understand her better and strengthen our bond. During the training, he made me realize that most of the time the issue is with me, not my dog, and all of this with great patience toward me and so much affection for Lola; she adores him. He gave both of us confidence from day one, making the classes fun and very productive. Even though I know we still have a lot of work ahead, he has given us clear, simple, yet very useful tools. Highly recommended without hesitation. I hope to keep posting reviews for the courses I'd love to take and his facilities, which we haven't tried yet but have been highly recommended to us. Thank you, David 😊

After these training sessions, I can only say thank you for the sheer amount of things you have taught me... it is not just the dog who learns, though I must say Ender has improved a lot in his attitudes and behavior, but I think the most important thing is the way you have taught me to communicate with him. Thank you, Ángel, because you have been a great guide on this journey, and you knew how to be flexible, adapting scheduled classes to other needs that came up along the way, solving problems and correcting with respect like the great professional you are. I discovered your canine center last summer when I had to leave Ender for three nights, and even back then it struck me as a place of respect, where the dog felt very comfortable despite the adjustment issues he usually has with people outside our family. I have to say that now I am doubly delighted with the facility and the staff who work (and dedicate themselves) there.

After almost a year with them, I can say that both the hotel and the training are TOP-notch! But best of all is the team and, in our experience, David! TRAINING: David became one of Freya's favorite humans. We rescued our gorgeous girl (a restricted breed) from an abandonment situation; she was 4 years old and didn't know what the city was, what a leash was, how to sit, lie down, and the biggest challenge... her reactivity. Little by little, we learned together and managed with great, positive reinforcement tools! We saw that everything is possible with hard work; there are no magic solutions, but this gentleman makes it look easy, hahaha. THANK YOU, we really enjoyed it :) HOTEL: We left Freya for a long weekend, and we felt very, very at ease seeing the facilities and knowing that the team has a real passion for dogs. Freya always travels with us, but when that's not possible... this is a great option. See you soon ❤️

Trusting other people with your pet is always a delicate matter. We understand that in our case we have an active one-year-old dog, and being first-timers, we were a bit nervous. Well, far from reassuring us through proactive communication and sending videos of our puppy, the center took a long time to reply, and their responses were either delayed or they simply didn't answer at all. We requested the home pick-up service. They have a system where they don't let you know what time they will arrive until the day before the stay. It wasn't until I messaged them at 4:00 PM that they told me what time they would come. On the first day, they sent us a video upon his arrival at 1:00 PM. So far so good. Only up to that point. Come evening, around 7:00 PM, after hearing nothing, we decided to text them. A brief message asking how our dog was doing, trying not to be annoying. They didn't reply until the next day. We shared our concern with them, explaining that we were first-timers, and far from understanding us, they replied with 'we have a lot of dogs, we go in order.' I think 13 hours is more than enough time to send us a video. Meanwhile, we saw them posting videos on social media, so we understood they had no qualms about ignoring us. I could go on about the second day, but it was more of the same. The exact same behavior. In short, not only will we not be returning, but we also advise against it to anyone who asks us. I don't understand how they have the nerve to give advice on social media or podcasts.

It has been seven months since we decided to adopt Horus; he is a puppy full of energy, our first dog. At first it was very hard for us, full of beautiful, happy moments and others that were very frustrating. He started to grow and we felt it increasingly necessary to rely on a dog trainer, as we had no idea where to start and didn't want to make mistakes or do things wrong due to lack of knowledge. One day we decided to look for dog trainers and found them; we did the in-person puppy course. Today we no longer feel lost, or at least not as much, as we have more tools to work with. I would like to give a special mention to David, our trainer—and yes, I say ours because he has taught both us and our little guy. Thank you so much, David, truly, for everything: for bearing with us, advising us, listening to us, and for your great tips (which work, and a lot). Thank you for how you treated both us and Horus; choosing you as guides in this challenge of raising a puppy with a whole world to learn was the best decision. Now we will continue practicing everything you taught us with him, thank you so much for everything! If any of you are as lost as we were and are hesitating about hiring a dog trainer, don't hesitate anymore, truly, go for it! You will notice the difference and will begin to better understand your dog's needs and get to know him better.

UPDATING AGAIN FOLLOWING YOUR NEW RESPONSE and changing my rating (from 1 to 4*) because everyone makes mistakes, and to rectify is wise. I am aware that removing that content from the blog must have been a difficult decision for you (since creating it incurred financial costs), and by doing so you prove to me that you are a true professional who, when mistaken, is capable of correcting it. I am sorry if I caused you any harm with my review, that was not my intention, but I felt I had to call out the content of that post and video for being inaccurate and potentially causing unnecessary distress to BC owners (I have one of these wonderful dogs). As I said, you have shown me through your attitude, by correcting the mistake, that you are a fantastic professional. Perhaps one day we can meet in person and talk about this as a simple anecdote. Best regards to you and your team. Darío UPDATING FOLLOWING YOUR RESPONSE: First of all, I encourage everyone to do a bit of research on the MDR1 mutation and its prevalence in Border Collies (here are some facts in this reply), watch your video afterward, and draw their own conclusions. I'm glad you posted the initial comment I left on your blog that you deleted (simply because it was critical), where, as anyone can see, at no point did it resort to insults or personal attacks (in which case I would have completely agreed with you deleting it). I think that shows how little reliability can be placed on the overall comments on your blog, when you only allow comments that contain zero criticism of your articles. Addressing your response point by point: 1- If you had truly researched this in depth before replying, you would have seen that, in the studies conducted, this mutation occurs at a fairly low frequency in Border Collies. Here are some references from these studies so you can check for yourselves: - Fidova (2016): 116 Border Collies tested. Mutation frequency: 0%. - Soussa 2020: 1469 Border Collies tested. Mutation frequency: 0.1% (this study came out after the video) - Other pre-2010 studies (with smaller sample sizes): Australia: Mutation frequency in Border Collies: 0% Germany: Mutation frequency in Border Collies: 0.6% To make it even easier, just search Google Images for "mdr1 frequency dogs" and you'll see several tables on how frequently this mutation occurs; you'll see that in some cases they indicate <10% and in others <5%, without specifying how much lower, but in any case, very far from the 70% you claim in your response. 2- At no point did I claim that a carrier should not be treated with caution. In the video, you state that any untested dog should be treated as if it were homozygous for the mutation. From my point of view, you aren't trying to warn people that this remote possibility exists, but rather seeking fear and sensationalism; that is why, as you can see, I wrote "it doesn't hurt to give a warning." 3- (paragraph removed due to character limit) 4- Indeed, that article is from 2018, and as you can see, many of the studies I reference predate the publication of your article. If you had truly done a bit of research, you might have taken a different approach in your video, warning that this possibility exists (even if not very high) instead of going for sensationalism. ... (cut off due to character limit) Regards --------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don't know what they are like as dog trainers, but after watching a video on their website about the MDR1 mutation in border collies (a video on which I commented pointing out the errors, and they didn't even bother to reply, but simply deleted it), they inspire no trust in me. If you cannot accept constructive criticism, I question your ability to teach (after all, dog training is an exercise in teaching).

It's the first time we left our dog there. Without a doubt, we will take him back. They have a constantly supervised pool for them to swim in, and rooms insulated against both cold and heat with a small private patio for each dog. They group them during walks according to their temperament, or walk them alone if they are difficult dogs. They have plenty of land for them to play during their two daily walks, plus the little break while the rooms are being cleaned. Best of all, they send you videos every day. Our Odín did very well, came home happy, and had no digestive issues from the food. We will definitely be back.

We left our 2 dogs, Oreo and Laki, at the camp for a month and a half. What can I say... WONDERFUL. The care, treatment, and attention were great, and both pups were thrilled. One of them got sick (issues unrelated to the camp) and they didn't hesitate to take him to the emergency room, and after the surgery, they treated and cared for him wonderfully. It's a place that has everything, and they also take them out for walks quite a bit. If you need to board your pet, don't hesitate for a second because they will be right at home.

We had a few in-person sessions with Javi because our Border Collie puppy was showing typical Border Collie puppy behaviors 😂, but it was definitely overwhelming for us. We're first-time owners and our priority was achieving a healthy, balanced relationship with our pup, so we didn't hesitate to seek help, and it was the best decision. He helped us understand her and channel her energy. We learned so much, and Javi was extremely professional. Thank you 🤍🐶

We couldn't be happier having taken the puppy course. Thanks to Guillermo and his patience, we've managed to understand our dog better and correct things we were doing wrong. What a shame we didn't start sooner. I recommend this course even if you don't have any issues. The exercises are fun, and the training is enjoyable. Thank you again, Guillermo, because you transmit a lot of calm, Cooper has noticed that, and we enjoy our time with him much more. We will definitely count on you again to keep learning together.

Being able to let your dog off-leash during a walk is incredible, but what is truly priceless is being able to unleash them without any fear of them running into danger, crossing roads, approaching people or dogs when it's not the right time, or chasing after a toy that isn't theirs... We have finished the Reliable Recall course and we couldn't give it any rating other than a 10 🐾👏🏽 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. David, you are awesome, thank you for your patience, your advice, your friendliness, and your love for Honey; every time a class ended she would dart after you—good thing we achieved a perfect recall, otherwise you'd have had to put up with her at your place! 😂 Giving your dog freedom, calling them at any moment, and having them drop everything to come back is so essential. GREAT GUYS ❤️

They wouldn't even agree to a phone call. I needed to inquire about their way of working, and despite making it clear that I was willing to travel or accept any working methodology, they didn't even want to have a conversation over the phone. Very unprofessional to demand a personalized diagnosis beforehand without listening to your needs.

#A reliable recall# Magnificent experience with David, making the classes very enjoyable, setting clear guidelines thanks to a well-defined structure, advice that seems obvious but that you hadn't even realized, and achieving results in a short time. It's not just taking the course and that's it, as if pressing a button. You have to keep working to generalize the behavior, but right from the first few days of practicing the exercises, a significant change in the dog's attention is noticeable. Congratulations on the professionalism. We will definitely see each other again with more challenges, because both we and our furry friend (despite his slowness/laziness 😂) were delighted.

Guillermo helped us a lot in training our puppy using positive reinforcement. This made us feel much more comfortable, but he also showed us when to set boundaries and withhold attention if the behavior was inappropriate, which I think is a very fair middle ground. We did the pre-training course, so we still have a looooot of work ahead of us, but now we know the basics of how to do it and what we need to improve on. Thank you so much.

I contacted them a few days ago because I wanted to buy a course as a gift for a friend. They replied right away, suggesting a different course from the one I wanted (which cost almost twice as much). I said no, that I understood the course they were suggesting was much better, but it was out of budget for the gift. When I purchased the course I actually wanted, they harassed me with calls all afternoon while I couldn't answer because I was working, although I always replied by email—which it seems they only use to push their 'real' price scam, apparently, since they don't resolve doubts or answer questions of any kind. In the end, they sent me an email saying there was an issue with my purchase. I called them and they told me that 'I had bought the wrong course' (false), that 'I hadn't completed the purchase correctly because I did it through the website (?!) instead of using the link they sent by email' (...for the course I DID NOT want), and that all courses cost the same (different from the price shown on the website) because, due to the pandemic, they can't do group courses. Misleading advertising, therefore, since prices that they tell you by email aren't real ARE STILL DISPLAYED RIGHT NOW on their website, and there's no mention there that they stopped offering group courses. Poor customer service, because at all times they assumed I had messed up, when the real mess-up is having fake prices on the website; plus, they left us in a bind regarding the gift we wanted to give, even though we started the whole process more than a week in advance. As trainers I don't know how they are, but as managers and in customer service, they act like 12-year-olds. A total disappointment. If anyone is bored and wants to give someone a hard time, buy an in-person course for under €250 on their website and go to the consumer protection agency (OCU) to file a false advertising complaint. You'll have quite a laugh.

I chose the puppy course so that our relationship with Lola and hers with us would be wonderful, so that we would learn to understand her, have good communication, and make living together extraordinary. Guillermo guided us along this path with great patience. We still have a lot to learn, more due to our own insecurities than hers. He adapted to us and to what we needed as Lola grew. I will contact them again to improve leash walks; Lola is intense and her greetings to other dogs and children are full of excitement, something that parents and owners don't see the same way I do. She is adorable, she has changed our lives, and Guillermo has played a big part in that. I encourage them to organize pack walk meetups to share what we've learned, our questions, and our experiences. Thank you!!!!!!!

When Corcho first came home, I felt overwhelmed because he's my first dog and is quite active, so I didn't know how to handle the situation well. However, the trainer who worked with us, David—always kind, patient, and approachable—gave me plenty of tools to better understand his behavior and redirect his puppy "nervous energy" in a positive way for both him and me. Additionally, the online school's content is extremely well-organized, with short, well-explained videos accompanied by weekly exercise sheets that are super useful. David is a magnificent professional who clearly enjoys what he does, and it shows in his classes; they are dynamic and clear. Our dog had a blast, and as owners we learned a ton, which showed in our relationship and in how much we've improved in the areas we hired him for (recall course). Without a doubt, 100% recommended and trustworthy.

Honestly, after taking the course, I see it as essential when bringing a puppy home. It might seem different because it is online, but it's quite the opposite: the theoretical explanations are presented with utmost clarity, they provide videos with examples to make things even clearer, and since you adapt it to your own schedule, there is no excuse not to make progress. Furthermore, any doubt is resolved and the communication is fantastic! You couldn't ask for more!!

I think the experience is unbeatable. I went to Javi with a 3-year-old female greyhound who had been home for 9 months. An absolute sweetheart of a dog, but with a few issues managing her emotions. Since we started working with him, the change has been impressive. We have gained security, confidence, calm, control, and best of all, the true personality of this little greyhound who steals my soul has emerged. Always working through positive reinforcement and respect. We keep working every day (this isn't magic), but I believe that without Javi's help none of this would have been possible. He sets small weekly goals for you, which he explains in a simple way, along with any issues you might encounter and how to deal with them. 100% recommended, no matter how difficult your dog's problem may seem. I could go on and on here about why Javi's courses are wonderful, but nobody would read it, so I'll try to be short and concise: With Javi's help and his courses, we achieved what seemed impossible with a dog like our Nala, who was nervous and had a high prey drive. Now she pays attention to us and walks calmly down the street, something that seemed impossible just two months ago. I signed up because I'm currently on medical leave and feeling down; it was the perfect excuse to push myself and spend more quality, productive time with my pup... and what I've noticed is that I now have a stronger BOND... out of everyone at home... he was already affectionate, but now with me, he knows that if I tell him to come and he doesn't listen, just looking at him is enough for him to understand what I want... just like when he sees me sad, he is the best companion... it's that magic where you just know what he's thinking simply by looking at you... Thank you, truly... El Bodegón is a daily staple for us now, especially if we have to go out... for a little while...!! Thank you for the opportunity, Javi!!!

The free "Solo un perro" course is great; you only spend 5 minutes watching each exercise, and for people like us who have little time, it's fantastic. It has helped my dog a lot because I've been practicing little by little and doing well. Of course, it also depends on the patience and time you dedicate to it—at the end of the day, it's your dog. Now I'm taking an online course that isn't very expensive, but it's great. Thank you for your help.

An excellent free course. I enjoyed the few sessions I was able to attend with my dog. I totally recommend it. Very educational and entertaining. The only problem is that from so many treats (hot dogs/sausages), my dog ended up with diarrhea.

Hi Javi, I loved the free course!!... It's hard to find a free course of this kind online that is genuinely useful. When Zar and I started it, I noticed positive changes in his behavior. It's interesting because it covers a little bit of everything without requiring too much time, keeping both handler and dog engaged. A guided course where our mistakes are corrected daily through the videos we upload, and where the instructor, Javi Martinez, does Facebook live sessions almost daily to explain the exercises and answer our questions. I truly think it's worth it. After this course, I signed up for the reliable recall course, to see if we can finally understand each other fully and enjoy our time together even more. Thank you so much for everything, Javi.

We discovered Solo Es Un Perro through the free 'Train With Your Dog' course. We loved it so much that I decided to continue my dog's training with one of their courses. Despite the uncertainty of whether it would work for us or not, the time we dedicated was not in vain at all, as everything we practiced showed the expected results. So it's truly worth it to improve your relationship with your furry friend and spend great times together enjoying quality moments.

The exercises were very well explained with the supporting videos. In addition, all questions were answered and feedback was given on all the videos that people posted. I totally recommend it.

My experience with Solo Es Un Perro couldn't be better. I have taken two online courses, and I recommend them 100%. They are perfectly organized, the exercises are simple because they are so well explained, they don't take up much time, and they quickly hook you because you see the progress both dog and human make very soon. It has completely changed my relationship with Pippa; since she is very active she used to "run wild", which is fine, but... with the exercises from Train with your dog, I've bonded more with her, learned how to play in a different way, and by organizing routines, Pippa is calmer and happier. Outside of classes, Javi and Andrea are always ready to help you with any problem you have, always seeking the well-being and happiness of our doggies. A thousand thanks for everything! I hope to keep learning with you this year.

Thanks to Javi, our pointer Asia has learned to socialize with other dogs since she was very young, regardless of their size or breed. For us, good coexistence with other "pet friends" has been a priority in raising her. And we have achieved all of that, among other things, thanks to the Solo es un perro course (Javi Martinez). THANK YOU

For years, we had a wonderful Golden Retriever, but we got her when she was 3 years old and already trained. Now we were getting a Border Collie x Basque Shepherd mix, along with all the myths associated with these breeds, and we trusted Javi to support us with the puppy's training and help us avoid making mistakes. We signed up for the Puppy Course, and from the very beginning, it has been a fundamental pillar. It establishes an order and serves as a guide so you know what to focus on and what is truly important. Javi is always there to lend a hand during difficult moments. We have finished the 8-week course and the work put in really shows; we are very happy with the results we are getting, and even though there are times when everything feels impossible, it all comes together in the end if you make the effort. For example, we learned that you don't need to exhaust the dog by running it to death to keep it calm (as you often read out there); exercise is an important part, but we have learned to implement other ways to keep our pup calm and peaceful. Now that we have laid the foundation, we continue working to consolidate it. We will definitely take another of his courses. There are also many blog posts on the website open to everyone that are very helpful. 100% recommended!!

We had a wonderful time and made a lot of progress (although we will keep training, as we still have a lot to learn!). Javier is lovely, very professional, and approachable at the same time; he gives so much confidence because you can tell he knows what he's doing, and it's incredible how well he understands dogs: it seems like he reads their minds (and ours too, hahaha) 😊 😊 Plus, he is always ready to guide you and give advice on any little problem; his tips are helping us a lot! A great professional, very kind and attentive. Always willing to help you even if it has nothing to do with the course. He has a lot of patience hahaha because sometimes us students don't quite get what he wants us to do, but he is always there to repeat it a thousand times if necessary. The explanatory videos are always a 10/10. Since we met him, the relationship with my dog is completely different; thanks to him, it's not so exasperating (he is a crazy puppy), and I've been able to understand many of his behaviors and handle certain situations better. He always makes you see things from the dog's perspective, and that is what makes the relationship with your dog improve. Definitely highly recommended.

One of the best trainers I know. The difficult part isn't knowing your stuff, but knowing how to pass it on. Javi is methodical, organized, and moves at your pace and your dog's... with his classes, if you are consistent, you see results in very little time. Plus, he is passionate about what he does and conveys that in every video. I believe that, for training basic obedience with your dog, it is the best training available. I've already been to several dog training courses and schools, and none of them have a method as reliable as his. 100% recommended whether you're looking to improve your dog's obedience or just want to strengthen your bond with them and do activities together. 'Sólo es un perro' offers both in-person and online courses. The online ones are just as good. I haven't tried the in-person ones, but I can only say wonderful things about the online courses... you will definitely learn. It doesn't depend on the dog or your skill... only on the drive and enthusiasm you put into it... a wonderful discovery. 💕
