Our little dog Bimba is 9 years old and, due to circumstances, we can no longer leave her with family when we go on vacation. So in 2025 we started taking her to El Tomillar on a friend's recommendation. And honestly, I regret not taking her sooner because it's like she goes to summer camp! She enjoys it so much, and we are happy knowing she is in such good hands. As long as we have our dog and her health allows it, her summers will continue to include “camp” at El Tomillar.

Today I had a reservation to drop off my two dogs. I travel tomorrow. They require a minimum stay of one week, even if you only need 3 days, claiming it is because it's July. As in any hotel, whether for humans or animals, ALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BOARDING MUST BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE, AND ALL ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS MUST ALWAYS BE PROVIDED AND REMINDED OVER THE PHONE. My sister called to make the reservation and they told her about rates, the mandatory minimum full-week payment, etc., BUT THEY DID NOT INFORM HER OF AN ESSENTIAL CONDITION: THE REQUIREMENT TO HAVE THE DOG VACCINATED AGAINST KENNEL COUGH, INFORMATION THAT DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE WEBSITE EITHER. Today I arrived with my dogs because I travel tomorrow, and he welcomed me because he knew money was coming in, but the moment he brought up THE KENNEL COUGH VACCINE, he stopped speaking to me politely. I told him that when my sister called to book, he didn't provide that information, and I verified that there is no mention of this issue on the website either. I told him it is the kennel's duty to remind all clients calling to book of this information before bringing the dogs, and he replied that it's the client's responsibility to know it—excuse me?! He didn't apologize for failing to inform my sister of this requirement over the phone and took no responsibility. He told me I couldn't board the dogs and just completely ignored me, speaking to me disrespectfully. He told me I was wasting his time because he had to attend to other clients, who weren't even there when I arrived. Of course, he refused to take any responsibility for the incident, leaving me high and dry since I travel tomorrow; he tried to blame me for what happened and, knowing he wouldn't get my money, didn't feel the need to treat me with dignity or admit his poor handling. TOTALLY NOT RECOMMENDED!! You must clearly inform clients of the conditions required at your facility whenever they want to board their pets, not place the burden of ignorance on the customer, and always, always look people in the face and speak politely, even if they and their dogs won't be contributing to your business. Above all: RESPECT, OWNING UP TO MISTAKES, AND APOLOGIZING. It was completely outrageous! Check the photos and see that this information appears nowhere.

After Aníbal's first stay at El Tomillar, he returned happy, relaxed, and more sociable. He is a one-year-old adopted dog, very fearful and large, which makes it hard for him to relate to other dogs when we walk him. There, they knew how to introduce him to other dogs, and we saw him playing non-stop in the videos they sent us. Just seeing how effusive and happy he was whenever he saw all the staff who cared for him, it's clear he was delighted. Without a doubt, we will see each other again whenever we need it.

Deplorable facilities. I took my dog a few weeks ago, and what you see in the photos is one thing, but what you see if you take a walk around is completely different. Dogs locked up with poop all around them. My dog went for three days, and judging by his mood and appearance from when I left him to when I picked him up, it seemed as if 2 years had passed and like they hadn't fed him or walked/played with him.

I regret having to disagree with so many glowing reviews. After a 13-day stay in June, I picked up my two dogs (three-year-old Labrador Retrievers, male and female from the same litter who have lived together since birth), and upon returning home I saw that the female had a wound on her left ear. The vet said the wound was about seven days old, infected, and involved loss of skin and cartilage. I spoke on the phone with Hugo and this was the explanation he gave me: none of the 5 people who work there had noticed anything (they hadn't heard anything, nor seen anything) and that "her brother probably did it while playing." Frankly, denying everything does not seem like very professional behavior to me.

However, I didn't expect at all to leave him in a kennel like the ones at an animal shelter; you can't tell properly from the pictures, though they do have a photo on their website and you'll see what I mean. I'm sure that for many dogs this is more than enough, but clearly mine didn't sleep a wink during the three weeks he stayed there; after picking him up, he slept for almost two days straight, absolutely exhausted. Also, the facility doesn't send videos or photos unless you practically beg for them, and even then, I only received 3 or 4 videos and/or photos over 3 weeks, despite having asked them to please send something daily. I really appreciate that they take them out to a common area with another dog, but I don't know if they walked him or not; I didn't receive any updates about that. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on my part, or unreasonable expectations—I'll take some blame for the kennel issue—but I can't overlook the photos and videos. I think it's the bare minimum they should do if asked. I didn't feel completely at ease during my vacation with so many days of no contact; next time, I'll leave him with a private sitter for a little bit more per day.

The staff knows each pet by name and it's obvious they truly know each dog... although it's always hard to part with your pets for the holidays, El Tomillar is the best option for them to enjoy a fun vacation too... thank you to all the team, to Hugo and Lucía!

I've been taking my dog there since he was a puppy and the experience has always been unbeatable. Whenever I ask, they send me videos and photos so I can see that everything is fine and that he's having a good time. They are always attentive, and if they can't answer the phone, they call you back shortly after. They care a lot about all the dogs staying with them. My dog always comes back exhausted from playing all day with the others! Highly, highly recommended.

Excellent treatment and above all, professionals who truly know a great deal about dogs; they calculate perfectly what they can and cannot do with each one of them so that everything goes wonderfully. Their strong point is the walks; the dogs enjoy themselves in groups and have a blast. While I was there, I couldn't stop watching how the dogs entered with their owners like children into an amusement park. Lucía goes out of her way for them and explains everything to perfection, reads the dogs like an "X-ray" in a matter of seconds, and has an incredible handling skill. 100% recommendable.

Today we picked up our "little one" after 10 days and we couldn't be happier. Gofy is a spirited dog who is very dependent on us, and we didn't know how he was going to react since he stops eating and drinking when he's not with us. At El Tomillar they won his full trust, and Gofy was extremely well cared for and super happy. We were pleasantly surprised by his behavior and the great job they did with him. You can tell they love their work; they kept us updated every day on how he was doing and sent us videos where you could see him play, play, and play. I could spend all day saying good things about his stay, but in short, the most important thing is that they cared for him with the same love we would, and he had a blast. Thank you so much, Lucia, for making our honeymoon trip possible, knowing that Gofy couldn't have been in better hands with the peace of mind you gave us. And thanks to Hugo, Pablo, and the rest of the team. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Have no doubt you'll be seeing Gofy around there again.

They are top-notch professionals who love animals and know how to interact with them, giving them confidence and peace of mind. Our dog, Marvin, came from a shelter, with the fear and shyness of dogs that have been abandoned. During the ten days he stayed at El Tomillar, they sent us videos where we could see his wonderful progress. We found him happy, playing with other dogs his size. Excellent quality-to-price ratio per day. A special thanks to Hugo, who knew how to handle Marvin perfectly. Needless to say, El Tomillar is now a place we completely trust. Our dog went in healthy. Three days later we picked him up with raw paw pads and a mangled snout. 55 euros in vet bills, 8 days of antibiotics, and three weeks unable to walk. Three days! I was courteous enough not to mention it initially, and given the dog's condition they told us not to pay. The dog lost two kilos of weight and has been unable to walk. After the review, they are demanding payment with threats—five days, they say... Great. Now I am filing a complaint with the Community of Madrid. You aren't sorry about anything, because talking to neighbors it turns out you have many issues like this. Thank God we didn't go on vacation, otherwise we would have picked him up dead. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE. You owe us 55 euros for the vet.

I want to place on record the professionalism and empathy shown by the young lady who refused to accept my dogs. The booking was made for this weekend, meeting all the requirements demanded to board the dogs (kennel cough and rabies vaccines). What a surprise when, upon dropping them off, we are told that the vaccine they have, Eurican Pneumo, does not cover Bordetella; after reading the vaccine's specifications, which comply with everything requested, she refuses to listen to reason and leaves us stranded, not caring at all about the trouble it causes us. Lack of professionalism and empathy. 19:45 - I beg you not to distort the truth, and not to use safety as an excuse, which of course we support for everyone's well-being. The reservation was made on the 17th, but as we already showed you in the health record, the dogs were vaccinated on May 3rd, which you completely ignored. Apologizing is what you should do, rather than trying to distort the truth, the only truth, the truth you told us in the phone call after the review was posted. You should know that you have not only lost some clients.

Coco, our Spanish Water Dog, doesn't want to know anything about us when he arrives... he immediately runs off to play. Great service, good facilities, fair prices, they clearly have experience. Plus, they'll bathe him if you want (for an additional fee, which seems like a good price to me) and you take him home squeaky clean. 100% recommended.

I've been with them for several years, I've already left 3 dogs with them and I continue to do so. They are wonderful and always make everything so easy. 100% recommended.

Whenever I pick up my dog, he is doing better and happier than when we dropped him off. They know all the dogs and have a socialization area with dogs of their size where they take them out 2 to 3 times a day to walk and run. Spending time with other dogs really helps dogs that live alone in houses or apartments. I only have positive things to say, and they know how to create a great environment for the dogs.

Whenever I travel, I leave my German Shepherd, Rex, at the boarding facility. It's spectacular, with great facilities and professionalism. Highly recommended, and the caretakers are lovely people who always attend to us with the utmost care and friendliness. It's truly like leaving Rex at home. Thank you so much!!!

We have been leaving my little Luna since the first time she was 6 months old. She always stays happy, she adores them, and that is because they treat her wonderfully. Thank you so much!

We left our little dog Tangi for a week and she was very happy. At first it's normal for them to get a little stressed, but they took great care of her. Very attentive to their canine guests. They gave her the vaccine she needed to stay there. They take them for walks around the facilities and make sure they eat well. It costs €14 per day. They have individual or shared spaces. Bring the vaccination record. We brought her little bed without any problem. Highly recommended. Professional and very nice people. Easy access and parking available. We will definitely use their services again next time.

Very unprofessional! When I booked my dogs' stay at this boarding facility, we agreed on a pick-up time of 11:00 because I had to travel at 14:30. Okay, all good, but a few days before, I contacted them to confirm the pick-up and they told me they had called me several times to let me know that they wouldn't be able to pick them up at 11:00, but rather at 14:00—by which time I already had my flight. You can't agree on a time and then change it as you please; you have to be reliable. I don't have a car, but even so, I was willing to rent one and go drop them off myself. The day before, I called them more than 20 times (during their business hours) and they wouldn't answer, nor did they bother calling me back that same day to see why I had called. And honestly, am I really supposed to expect photos, videos, or anything sent to me later to know my dogs are doing well? Such a lack of professionalism. And it makes me suspect that the dogs are locked up in kennels all day; I can't know for 100% sure, but that's what I believe. I definitely do not recommend leaving your dogs at this facility. I looked for other alternatives.
